I'm very late coming into this discussion but thought it might be fun to add my two cents. I owned a Polaris FIB that was destroyed in hurricane Katrina and I now have an Aliseo II on order. I had 60 wonderful hours in the FIB and sure do miss it. You're right about the wing being ungainly to assemble and attach, but it IS possible to do it by yourself. Not easy, but possible. the comments about the wind are accurate; it is best to avoid strong winds for all kinds of reasons.

I am very excited about the Aliseo for lots of reasons, including the strutted wing, extra power, and overall appearance so we'll see how it goes. It will be an ELSA and has already been through the FAA process although it has not yet been delivered.

I'm anticipating a delivery any day now, however!!

Dear Francesco,

Thank you for the e-brochure. I read it with interest. Would you have any objections of me sharing this information with a 'Flying Boat' Website
(www.gpi2.no/Dragonfly9...ndex.php).

Best Regards,

Herman

Dear Herman,

Of course no objections sharing this information on "THAT SITE THAT SHOWS THE POLARIS"

For anything else please email me at any time.

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am a Bristish Flexwing Pilot with 600hrs and I am interested in FIBs. Until today I thought there were only 2 on the market, but I have now found the Polaris, Aliseo amd the Ramphos. It seems to me that the Polaris is a failrly basic craft with limited range, a very large wing which means handling problems in strong winds, but it is amphib.

The Aliseo looks a great machine but is not amphib. I am also dubious as to how reliable the Simonini engine is and its HP claims. I do like the folding wing option and the fact that the latest mark 3 version is topless, but what is a realstic cruise speed.

The Ramphos is amphib and they now offer a rotax 912 which is a great step forward. I would be interested if anyone has flown at least 2 of these types and can give comparisons

Regards
